Inner child poetry

In a garden far away
High up in the clouds
Was a special golden egg
Hidden safe and sound
Underneath a pear tree
And nuzzled in the shrub
Occupied by fairies
Surrounding it with love
“What is this?” asked a flower
“That, behind the wagon.”
“It's an egg full of power!”
“This here is a dragon.”
Some flowers collapsed
For they were so scared
“Dragon?” one gasped
“But are we prepared?”
“We will teach him love and light
You have nothing to fear
Keep in mind that he might
Feel different here.”
The flowers nodded
And gathered around
Some that were potted
Some from the ground
Their colors were soothing
Their petals were soft
And as they were blooming
They formed a loft
Then one special day
The flowers heard a weird tap
They then yelled, “Hooray!”
As the egg began to hatch
The fairies named him Soney
For his future was bright
It was spelled just like honey
The sweetest of light
He was small for a while
But he started to grow
His scales were argyle
And often they'd glow
He was friends with the bees
And loved smelling flowers
He’d sit in the leaves
Chatting for hours
Then one day Soney
Was sprinkling some seeds
He saw something funny
A little bunch of weeds
They were very surprised
“Whoa, what are you?”
He then realized
“I haven’t got a clue.”
They started to tease
Calling him weird
He then felt a sneeze
That promptly appeared
This feeling was odd
It was also brand new
What once was a yawn
Became an ACHOO!
Out of his itchy snout
Fire came out rushing
As they began to shout
He then started blushing
From far away this was a treat
But not for those up close
There was damage from the heat
That came out of Soney’s nose
Soon the fairies arrived
They were watching from afar
“It’s okay to be surprised
By how powerful you are”
“I didn’t mean to do that
I don’t know what happened
I got a little angry
And then the fire tapped in”
“You’re special in more ways than one
Your differences are beautiful
And feelings like this one
Are always transmutable”
“What does that mean?
I don’t like feeling mad
I burn everything
It makes me feel so bad”
The fairies then smiled
For they knew how to help
“Follow us, child,
Let us try something else
We understand how you feel
Your nerves are tightly wound
Just try this sweet chamomile
It’ll help you ground”
“But how will this help?
This is just some tea
I’m like no one else
Can’t you all see?”
“This will calm your mind
Which will help you think
Discoveries of a different kind
You’re right on the brink”
Soney sat down
And took a few sips
The silence around
Helped his mood shift
Suddenly he had a thought
“I know how I can help!
I can keep things hot
Like nobody else
I can fly up high
And help out with the chores
I can also bake some pie
While toasting all the s’mores”
The flowers all cheered
His heart didn’t harden
His calmness appeared
He was one with the garden
By opening up his heart
And quieting his mind,
His ideas were not only smart
They helped him to unwind
They all worked together
In their own unique ways
Loving the weather
Especially rainy days
